Kang Pado is a young boy who works alongside his father on their rural farm. Together, they tend to livestock and grow various crops to sustain their livelihood. Despite the demands of farm life, Pado attends a distant high school located 10 kilometers away by road. His father, however, suggests a quicker route—swimming across the river, cutting the journey down to just 3 kilometers. Trusting his father’s advice, Pado obediently takes this watery shortcut daily, paddling to and from school whenever classes are in session. Unfortunately, due to declining enrollment, the local high school eventually closes its doors. Left with no other options, Pado relocates to Seoul, where his older sister resides. In the bustling city, he must adapt to a new high school environment and navigate the challenges of urban student life. From rural simplicity to metropolitan complexity, Pado’s journey takes an unexpected turn as he faces unfamiliar experiences and opportunities in Seoul. His resilience and determination will be tested as he balances academics, friendships, and the fast-paced rhythm of city living. Whether he thrives or struggles, one thing is certain—his story is just beginning.
